Designing and producing a car from scratch is not an easy task for most manufacturers. Calm Competició has highly self-demanding standards in this regard and has all the necessary tools and resources to perform all the required calculations in terms of tension, strain and resistance, mass distribution and security systems, while also using the right light materials to achieve the perfect balance between performance and resistance. The workshop and engineering works are coupled with last-generation welding, iron and materials, which grants the maximum security at the moment of piloting. Besides, Calm Competició is an official center Custom Cage in Spain, which warrants approved assembling and high-quality security arcs.
 

Any customer looking for something extra in a competition car knows that one of the first places to study is the engine level of preparation. The propulsion engine is the basis of the performance, but it can also become a source of problems when it is not reliable. Preparation and correct maintenance of the engine are aspects not to be overlooked. Calm Competició has an engine department with the most modern technology and a testing bench of equal features.

Pilots know that a checked and well-maintained gearbox enhances its features and casts problems away. This is the job of the car preparer: keeping a high-performing functionality while adhering to the official standards making sure all the spare pieces and gears are original and supplied by the manufacturer.

In the transmission, work is even more arduous since current lock-up clutches allow for a direct access to achieve a better tuning. The task is focused on attaining a good setup of the transmission, while also attending to the systematic review of the drive shaft and its joints, primary aspects to compete with the relief of knowing that a thorough work has been performed at the workshop.

It is not only about strengthening or softening, the suspension is a capital element for control and competitiveness and here, the experience in applying the best solutions is paramount as is the collaboration with the engineering departments of the suppliers, making for a better, faster and more efficient decision-making process. Theoretical calculations of suspension are very important: coil springs study, shock-absorbers, stabiliser and mechanical adjustments to achieve the right setup. The camber angle, convergence and advancing, shock-absorbers and coil springs tare, height of the unit, all these factors are of the utmost importance and it’s mandatory to test them on the road: the expert’s advice is vital here.
